Substantial changes in weather patterns are linked to a rise in the global average temperature. According to scientific studies, human-induced climate change has the potential to increase the frequency or intensity of extreme weather events including big storms along with hurricanes, typhoons, and more. In order to safeguard these populations during storm surges would be difficult. Hence, in order to avoid further damage and challenging situation the adoption of storm surge barriers is growing.
Advances in technology have resulted in novel construction materials and methods that may improve the strength and effectiveness of storm surge barriers. Instead of depending on fixed structures that may be less effective in severe weather, some storm surge barriers are now being developed with moveable gates that may be opened and closed as required. Moreover, storm surge barriers may be made more effective and efficient while consuming less maintenance costs through the integration of smart technology such sensors, machine learning algorithms (MLA), and predictive analytics.
