  • Alcohol-free oral rinse: Oral rinse and mouthwashes are not recommended for children. OTC mouthwashes contain about 25% alcohol which isn’t advised for intake under the age of 13. Attributed to this, alcohol-free oral rinse production is at a surge, especially for children. Such mouthwashes contain essential oils like thyme, peppermint, and eucalyptus oils for breath fresheners and vegetable juices like tomato, purple carrot, beet, and red cabbage for adding colors. For instance, in March 2023, TheraBreath announced the launch of its oral rinse product line for children in March 2023, which includes mouthwashes, toothpaste, lozenges, tongue scrapers, and sprays. All these products are alcohol and paraben-free and can be consumed by children under 13 years of age.

  • High pricing: The primary barrier is the immense cost of dental hygiene products. These products are pricey and will have a boost on the typical household's budget, even though they are widely available. Since oral care products can be expensive, most people cannot afford to follow what is generally considered the best way to maintain good oral hygiene.
