E-Waste Management Market size was over USD 79.76 billion in 2024 and is poised to cross USD 520.15 billion by the end of 2037, growing at more than 15.3% CAGR during the forecast period i.e., between 2025-2037. In the year 2025, the industry size of e-waste management is estimated at USD 89.65 billion. These gadgets have a trend to expire very easily, as small damage is enough to make them count in as waste. The surge in demand for electronic gadgets and the reduced lifecycle of these products is therefore anticipated to drive the need for e-waste processes, and in turn, contribute to the growth of the global e-waste management market. India's demand for laptops and tablets is anticipated to increase between 2020 and 2023 at an annualized rate of 3%. Up to 2019, the market for laptops and tablets expanded by just over 2%. Moreover, in Western Europe, laptop sales increased by 38%, majorly indicating a higher demand from students who are associated with different educational backgrounds.
Besides this, the incessant generation of electronic waste all across the world is expected to propel market growth. Globally, e-waste production exceeds 50 million metric tons annually or around seven pounds per person. Furthermore, inadequate management of electronic waste and its negative impact on the environment is to boost the demand for better e-waste management. According to the most recent estimates, only 17.4% of the e-waste created in 2019 reached legitimate management or recycling facilities; the remainder was illegally discarded, and it is mostly done in low or middle-income countries. Moreover, between 2014 and 2020, greenhouse gas emissions from electronic gadgets and garbage linked with them grew by 53%, including 580 metric tons of carbon dioxide just in 2020.
